15th Annual Strathcona Art Walk Biggest Yet!
Frank Haddock participated in the 15th Annual Art Walk on July 17th and 18th. He was located at McIntyre Park (on 104 street and 83 Avenue) and was joined by other fine artists such as Susanne Lamoureux, Gail Seemann, Peter Moore, Melanie Croucher and many others. Frank showed new watercolours and a few oil paintings as well. The Art Walk got off to a disappointing start as it rained most of the friday that should have been our first day (July 16th). Yet the Saturday and Sunday were perfect!
This is Frank’s original watercolour of ‘PC’, the ARTRA Art School Mascot.

Several of these watercolours feature Sarah, a cat that he adopted from the Hervey Foundation For Cats (‘click’ the name to visit their site). Sarah is growing up fast and now she has to earn her living by posing for cat paintings. The painting on the cover of Creaturesall is her first portrait and it is titled, ‘Miss June’. New Beginnings
and New Ideas!
For many people this time of year is an opportunity to cast off old ways and adopt new behaviours. Some people call them new years resolutions. Most often a person makes a resolution to improve themselves in one way or another. Improving ones self is always a good idea but I think it would be a great idea to follow that by helping the plight of others. One silent group of individuals that have no voice are our fellow earthlings.
